Proyecto Emely Ruiz has already partnered with political leaders and health professionals, reaching and transforming the lives of more than 5,000 women in the Dominican Republic.
During its pilot program, Proyecto Emely collaborated with rural hospitals and community clinics in San Pedro de Macorís and San José de los Llanos. Medical staff and women leaders were trained on the proper use of menstrual cups—through an educational model that went far beyond simple product distribution.
These efforts helped dismantle long-standing taboos around menstruation and opened the door for countless women to access free medical services, including gynecological checkups, early breast cancer screenings, and reproductive health education.
By combining access to menstrual hygiene products with education and community training, Proyecto Emely Ruiz creates a lasting impact —strengthening women’s health, autonomy, and self-esteem.
